Great product, my gums are healing great, sort of noisy

So... this Waterpik is amazing. By the way this is my first review ever on Amazon after ordering numerous of things. So I had 4mm and 5mm periodontal pockets from not flossing and also experienced some bone loss, I also had to get a very uncomfortable deep gum pocket cleaning. I literally hated flossing and would find myself avoiding to floss even though I needed it very much. My gums were red, swollen, and inflamed because I was in the early stages of periodontal disease. I started using the Waterpik flosser, and instantly like this way of flossing much better! After using it consecutively each night for only 5 days my gums were noticeably better and felt much better. After 2 weeks of using the Waterpik flossing, coconut oil pulling, and mouthwash treatment, my gums have done a complete 180 and my mouth and gums are starting to heal properly! Also this flosser can be somewhat loud, but definitely gets the job done ( but the dentist still recommends string flossing). Brought this with my own money and this is an honest testimonial/review. I will be back with an update on what mm my gum pockets will be!

Wow! Should Have Bought This Years Ago!

Fifty-odd years ago when I was a kid, my parents bought WaterPiks for me and my two brothers. Over the years mine got lost during moves for school and work and, frankly, I'd forgotten about it. A couple years ago, I started having problems with sore/bleeding gums and--no matter how often I brushed--my mouth always felt like the bottom of a birdcage. Then, I remembered my childhood WaterPik. Just in time for one of Amazon's sales!I ordered the Aquarius model, and have used it twice-daily for a week. Guess what? No more bleeding gums! And after every use, my mouth feels like it was cleaned by a dental hygienist. Love, love, love this thing, and it's super easy to use! After reading numerous reviews here, I have to say that it makes a low, vibrating noise when in use but it's not loud (I have hyper-sensitive hearing and can't bear loud noises). If your unit gets moldy, it's because you didn't take 30 seconds to empty the tank and drain the line after each use. Try adding a couple ounces of mouthwash into the water tank when you use it and--just like you can your coffee maker--once in a while run some white vinegar thru the tank followed by two tanks of clear water. It's not rocket science. Those who reported it "leaking" from the bottom of the cleaning tip probably just didn't have it seated correctly. It has to snap into place on the wand, but if you aren't paying attention and press the "release" button on the wand instead of the "on" button to start the water flowing then, yeah, it'll leak from the bottom. Just snap it back into place and give your Therapy Llama a break.Water going everywhere? Don't turn it on until the cleaning tip is in your mouth, and then keep your mouth closed around it like you're supposed to.Seriously folks, I used one of these when I was seven years old and didn't have any of these problems.Buy one. You'll love it. I'll never be without a WaterPik again!

Great unit + Waterpik honored the warranty too!!

I love to Waterpik! Purchased in November 2017, after an older Waterpik wore out after about 9 years of almost daily use. Unfortunately, the motor on this one stopped working a few weeks ago for some reason and I was very reluctant/hesitant to bother with a warranty claim, as it always seems like a hassle. So I started shopping other brands. I also decided to take a chance and reach out to Waterpik to see what their warranty experience was like. To my pleasant surprise, Waterpik was gracious, and after answering a few simple questions, they agreed to send a replacement unit! Nice!! Made my day!! Thank you, Waterpik!!

love it, buy it you won't be sorry

I have been using this for a couple of months now and have to say I love this waterpik. I have had dental work done and I put a little salt in a glass with some warm water and mix then put in my waterpik. This really helps with healing my gums and keeps food out of any spaces that can get food stuck. The flosser part works great and you will not be disappointed. The only negative I can find is I wish it had a place to store the spare pics/flosser tubes. I currently have them in a tall shot glass so my hubby can find his easily and not use mine ;) I would purchase this again if needed. Please click yes if this review helped you in any way. Thanks

Couldn't be happier

I am in my late 60's and my gums are starting to recede. A few years back, I began to develop slight to moderate periodontal disease. I felt that my previous waterpik, even at it's lowest setting was sometimes more harmful than beneficial to my gums. Sometimes my gums need something with a more gentle feel to it. I also wanted something that was recommended by the American Dental Association. My dental hygienist recommended this specific waterpik waterflosser because of it's overall performance and it's versatility of settings and attachments. I liked this waterpic immediately because it comes with 10 different pressure settings, giving me the option to dial in a setting to match how my gums feel on any particular day. The lowest setting is quite soothing and the highest setting is like using a pressure washer so you definitely have a variety of options. Also, according to my hygienist, as a flosser, this is more effective than string floss. It also comes with 7 tips for individual needs such as braces, bridges, implants and more. One tip that is particularly useful to me is a tip for periodontal pockets, which is important in fighting receding gumlines. Water Pik, as a company, has been around a long time and has a great customer service team and offers a 3 year warranty with this product. If you have any issues going on within your mouth, you might want to first discuss with your dentist the things to look for in a waterpic that is specific to your needs. Personally, I have been using this waterflosser for a month now and am very happy with my choice.

Aquarius waterpik review compared to the wp100

I got this new waterpik to replace an older one that I have used daily for several years. I was nervous because a couple people said it was not made as well as the older model but I did not find that to be the case at all.I used to have the WP100 and this works equally well but with a few extras that to me are worth paying a little more for.*I love that this Waterpik has an on off switch on the handle that completely shuts off the water. You still have to turn the motor on and off at the base but they have also made it a push button rather than a switch. It's easy to have the wand in one hand and reach over and tap the on / off switch. Much better.*The timer gives a short pause every 30 seconds so you know how much time you have spent on an area. Love this!*The unit has a smaller footprint. The reservoir is the exact same size but the whole thing just sits a little taller. I like the smaller footprint, and a little taller unit does not affect me at all. It's just a better use of the space on my counter.*The unit has a slot to keep a couple extra nozzles behind the reservoir. The other one had something in the lid but it was not effective. I ended up just removing the lid and putting it in a drawer. To be honest I only use the regular nozzle, but this could come in handy for people sharing the unit with other users.*The lid has a hinge rather than the old one that you had to lift completely off. It's so easy to lift the lid add water and close the lid.Over all I am very happy with my purchase. I loved my old one too but it just was getting nasty looking after a few years of daily use. I do like this one better and while I recommend both units this one has a bit of an edge. Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks

This thing is AWESOME!

I had never used a Waterpik before and then on my last Dentist visit, I was told that one of my teeth had a 7mm pocket and bone loss which made the tooth a little loose. I scheduled a gingivectomy to have some of my gum removed to make the pocket smaller and provide better access to clean under the gum. All this in the hope of saving the tooth. I went home and did some research and found that a Waterpik, when used correctly, could clean under the gums and help prevent any further damage to my teeth. I read the reviews, pulled the trigger and ordered the Aquarius in blue. I received it a little over a week ago and my wife and I started using it. From reading the bad reviews, I expected it to leak all over the counter and be loud enough to wake the dead. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this wasn't the case at all. No leaks and the unit wasn't very loud at all. It's louder than my electric toothbrush, but the volume is very acceptable. The first time I used it, my gums bled quite a bit meaning that it was doing the job of getting rid of bacteria and infection. The next time I used it there was only a little blood and now I don't get any at all. Also, the puffiness in my gum around the deep pocket tooth is now gone. We'll see what my Dentist says at my next visit, but I'm betting that there will be marked improvement. Highly recommended!

Worth every penny and then some

I am the son of a dentist, the brother of a dentist, and the son of a professor of dentistry at one of the prominent dental schools in Ohio. Needless to say oral hygiene has been beaten into me since I was a child. In the 70s and 80s people use water pics and for some reason they seem to have gone out of vogue. A good one completely replaces the need for dental floss which most people hate to use. Having grown up with a WaterPik in my house and always only one I can tell you that this is the best one I've ever had. You want to use it on the highest setting that you can tolerate and use warm water. The proper way to use this device is to fill the tank completely with warm water and use it in each quadrant of your mouth until the water runs out. If you don't wait for the water to run out you have not used it long enough. This unit appears to have a feature that pauses very slightly when it's time to switch sections of your mouth. It only happens once so if you start at the top do it until it pauses and then switch to lowers. If you are different than everyone else who has teeth and find that this is not a useful tool, just remember this is a prime item and you can return it... As nasty as that is.

Messy messy messy

So my dentist recommended I get one of these to aid in my flossing because it blasts in there better than floss gets in and prevents periodontal disease and what not. It says to not use at full power but I find it's the only way to get in there deep. The cord is short and the picks cable is short as well. I attach it to an extension cord and use it in my shower because the splash gets everywheres. You can't use this at a sink cleanly. I prefer using Luke warm water. Feels better on my gums than ice cold. It has lots of attachments but the only one that you need is the fine pressure one.

Compact and powerful

This is my first water flosser. So far I love it. It’s easy to use and cuts maintenance time so I can get out the door or to bed. I wanted to post pics so you to see the size of the unit as I couldn’t really tell the space utilization. It’s compact and and blends in.

Worked for me

I’ve had this about 3 months so I waited for results before writing a review. Had an appointment with the hygienist recently and what a difference this product made, with nightly use. I was diagnosed with periodontal disease and was told I needed laser treatment and if that didn’t work, possible gum surgery, at multiple appointments. There was no mention of a waterpik to help me; I researched this on my own. This visit, no mention of laser or gum surgery and much improved gum pocket inflammation. I also added one oral biotic tablet, BLIS K12, salivarius (good bacteria) each day and I threw out the alcohol mouthwash and toothpaste with triclosan bought Tom’s mouthwash and sensodeyne with no triclosan. I think the other things I was using were killing the good bacteria. I’m writing this to help others because I don’t think these things are talked about in the dentist office.

Geat Flosser - I use it every day.

I ordered this to replace the Water Pik Ultra Flosser. I noticed that the hose in the old one seemed to have mildew in it, as it came out of the hose. ewww.I could have replaced the hose, but I could not tell if the inside of the actual machine was clean, so I decided to replace it.I like this one so much better for this reason: Both Flossers have buttons on the handle that stop the water from coming out. On the Aquarius Flosser the button is a switch, so you don't have to hold it down, you just push it on when you are ready. This allows the water to flow for a few seconds to clear any standing water and let the warmer water come out. Then you can switch it off, until you get the tip in your mouth. Both buttons did the same thing, but in the Ultra Flosser it was easy for my finger to slip off the button and spray me.I have used Water Pik Flossers for years.

Nice improvement over older models

This is my 3rd waterpik in 20 years, so far everything is great. I like the whitening tablet nice detail. I may not buy them on a monthly basis but they seem to improve the color of my teeth. Overall nice unit I like that the additional tips are in a separate container than in the lid they will stay cleaner that way. The on/off switch on the handle is much better than the button it would stick after a year or so and it keeps the water off the mirror much better also.

I actually enjoy doing my teeth now instead of dreading it.

I'd heard about these things before but I never dreamed I would like having one so much. I've always hated manual flossing with a passion. This is so much nicer and I really enjoy keeping my teeth clean now. It's much more pleasant than pulling floss between my teeth. My teeth feel so much cleaner after I use this so I use it twice a day. I love it. It is a little noisy, but not bad. I wish I had gotten one years ago because I actually enjoy doing my teeth now instead of dreading it. I also like this size as it doesn't take up much space on the counter. It's light and easy to move around.
